How It All Started

Back in 1987, our founder Marcus Faylorn stood at this exact spot with nothing but wild forest and a crazy dream. He'd spent years working in fancy hotels across Europe, but something always felt... off. Too stuffy, too disconnected from what really mattered.

Marcus wanted to create something different - a place where you could wake up to mountain peaks without sacrificing the comforts you'd expect from a five-star property. His partners thought he'd lost it, honestly. Who builds a luxury resort in the middle of nowhere?

Turns out, that "middle of nowhere" became one of Canada's most sought-after destinations. Marcus had the last laugh.

Our Journey Through Time

Three decades of evolution, one constant mission - creating unforgettable mountain experiences

1987

The Foundation

Construction began with just 28 rooms and a small restaurant. Marcus and his team worked through brutal winters, often camping on-site. The first guests arrived in December, and we've been hosting folks ever since.

1995

Growing Pains

Word got out faster than we expected. We doubled our room count and added the spa wing - which wasn't even in the original plans. Sometimes you gotta adapt. This was also when we brought in Chef Helena, who's still running our kitchen today.

2003

Recognition

That year we got our first five-star rating from the Canada Hotel Association. Marcus cried - won't lie. We also launched our adventure concierge service because guests kept asking us where to hike, ski, and explore.

2012

Sustainability Shift

We went big on environmental initiatives - geothermal heating, solar panels, the whole nine yards. Cost a fortune upfront, but it was the right move. The mountains gave us everything, figured we should give back.

2018

New Leadership

Marcus handed the reins to his daughter Elena, who'd been basically running operations for years anyway. She brought in fresh ideas while keeping dad's original vision alive. The conference center and event facilities came from her push.

2024

Today & Tomorrow

We're still here, still doing what Marcus dreamed about all those years ago. The property's bigger, the amenities are better, but that core idea hasn't changed - give people a genuine connection to these mountains without compromising comfort.

What Drives Us

Look, we're not gonna pretend we're perfect. Running a mountain resort is tough - the weather's unpredictable, equipment breaks, pipes freeze. But what keeps us going is seeing guests decompress. That moment when someone walks into their room, sees those peaks through the window, and just... exhales. That's why we do this.
